Uniting public and private resources to promote actions that alleviate the causes of poverty by assisting the disadvantaged in lifting themselves to self -sufficiency through education, employment, and utilization of other avalible resources.

Community Action changes people's lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
Since January 1, 2007, Capital Resource Agency has worked with the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity in order to continue providing the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funded programs to the low-income individuals and families of Boone, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha and Putnam counties.
Effective November 1, 2007, Capital Resource Agency, Inc., by proclamation of the Honorable Joe Manchin III, Governor of the State of West Virginia, became an eligible entity and the Community Action Agency responsible for serving the low income communities of those five counties. The Board of Directors, Executive Director, and staff of CRA, Inc. will continue in their mission to provide current services but at the same time develop new and innovative programs and services that will help educate low-income individuals and families in order to help them break the cycle of poverty for themselves as well as help their communities grow once more.
