Q. How do I know if I qualify for CRA's (Capital Resource Agency) services and programs?
A. Eligibility is determined by income guidelines established by the State funding sources. Call any location to verify eligibility.
Q. Can I receive services if I am disabled and unable to visit a CRA location?
A. CRA offers some outreach services to clients that are unable to visit any of our sites.
Q. What types of emergency assistance does CRA offer?
A. CRA can help in the following areas:
1. Assisting in payment of utility bills ONLY if they are in termination.
2. Preventing eviction if the customer has an eviction notice from a
landlord or magistrate court.
3. Assisting with first month's rent in safe, affordable housing.
4. Food from our emergency food pantry, or USDA-donated goods.
5. Baby food and/or formula, diapers, and personal and household items
WHEN AVAILABLE.
Capital Resource Agency CANNOT assist with security deposits of any kind.
Q. Does CRA offer any other programs I may be eligible for?
A. CRA partners with Community Resources, Inc. to help qualified customers and households receive assistance through the Weatherization Program. This program is limited in the work that can be done. For more information and to see if you qualify call or email the Capital Resource Agency office nearest you.
In addition, CRA operates the Handyman Program. This program was instituted to help low-income people and households in making their homes safer and healthier to live in. At present the program is limited in funding and the scope of work that can be done. For more information please call the CRA office nearest you.
Q. How often can I receive emergency services ?
A. CRA can assist a customer or household financially with emergency services only once each year. Please call for guidelines on Weatherization and Handyman Projects.
Q. What do I need to bring when applying for CRA programs?
A. You need to have the following before visiting our offices: most current verification of income; photo ID; social security numbers and information for EVERYONE residing in the household; eviction notice; utility termination notice, or any other documents that pertain to your particular needs.
